I am Alex Moreno, owner of Moreno Tile & Stone, LLC. My primary objective is to please you, the customer. Our business caters to a variety of jobs—large and small, residential and commercial, basic and elegant, interior and exterior.

We maintain Moreno Tile & Stone as a small business so the quality of craftsmanship is the highest. Using both hand tools and modern equipment, we fabricate stone to capture its intrinsic warmth and depth of character.
Design
From Alex: “I am a sculptor by training, which means I have an eye for detail, space, and dimension. I’m sensitive to a material’s character, color, shade and texture. I can also visualize a project before beginning. Creative design is one of our company’s specialties. The human element is critical when shaping stone and laying tile.”
History
Moreno Tile & Stone has thrived since its inception in 1992. Our work can be seen throughout the Midwest in some of the highest-quality private homes, hotels, restaurants, public buildings, banks, hospitals, and houses of worship. My training in tile began as a youth in California, and later I learned stone fabrication in Arizona. Tile and stone work abound in both states and I have had the opportunity to learn this trade from some of the best craftsmen in the country.
We are proud to say that we have been in business for 27 years thanks to wonderful customers who appreciate the beauty of stone and want their homes to feel extra special.

Why Mountain to Prairie?
Granite and marble are quarried from mountains around the world. The stone slabs are shipped to the Midwest where you can choose the perfect one for your home. The slab is then delivered to our shop where Alex hand-fabricates your kitchen countertop, bathroom vanity, or custom pieces. We bring mountain stone to your prairie home. How cool is that?
Where Can You Find Us?
We run a home-based business in west-central Illinois. It’s cold here in the winter and hot in the summer, but the Illinois prairie is beautiful. Nature inspires our work year round.

This is the back of our home. Once a small, white country farmhouse, our living space now features the warmth of timber coupled with beautiful tile and stone throughout. It keeps us snug even on the coldest winter days. Family and friends gather with us in this welcoming space. As we develop this site, we’ll share the interior work. Stay tuned!
